When the craving for something crunchy strikes, or if you need a bowl of snacks to share for a movie, big game, or party, we’ve got your new go-to mix! With just a smidge of salt, but lots of zesty citrus flavour, plus just enough spicy zing, this is a totally craveable snack that you can gobble up and still feel good about.

Ingredients:
- 43 g / 3 tbsp Mirage margarine, melted
- 45 ml / 3 tbsp lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 30 ml / 2 tbsp orange juice, freshly squeezed
- 14 g / 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 6 g / 1 tbsp lime zest, finely grated
- 4 g / 2 tsp orange zest, finely grated
- 6 g / 1 tsp salt
- 3 g / 1 ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 g / ¼ tsp cayenne powder
- 141 g / 1 ½ cup raw walnuts
- 139 g / 1 cup raw almonds
- 137 g / 1 cup raw peanuts
- 69 g / ½ cup raw pepitas
Garnish:
- 2 g / 1 tsp lime zest, freshly grated
- 2 g / 1 tsp orange zest, freshly grated
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the melted Mirage margarine, lime juice, orange juice, brown sugar, lime zest, orange zest, salt, chili powder, and cayenne pepper until thoroughly mixed.
- Add the walnuts, almonds, peanuts, and pepitas. Toss to evenly coat.
- Spread the nut mixture in an even layer onto the prepared baking sheet. Put into the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, shake and mix the nuts, and evenly spread the nuts before placing back into the oven. Bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until mixture is dried; do not burn.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the lime and orange zest while still hot. Let cool on pan.
- Serve immediately or store completely cooled nuts in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
Chefs Notes:
- Use nuts or seeds of your choice if any of the ones listed are not available.
- If desired, maple syrup or honey can be used in place of the brown sugar.
- Nuts will continue to dry and harden as they cool, remove from oven if they are getting too dark.
